All staff members in Loreto Bray engage in Pastoral Care of students.. However, we are privileged to have a Pastoral Care Team in the school as an additional layer of support for our students. Our role is to give emotional support to students by providing tools to encourage positive mental health and developing coping skills to build resilience.
The Pastoral Care team consists of 5 members of staff – Linda Quigley (Chaplain), Ann Dilley, Ciara Walsh, Lisa Hamilton, Damian Sweeney. To help with this work our team takes part in different courses and CPD opportunities to upskill in this important area.
At the beginning of the school year the team meets each year group and explains the supportive role of the pastoral care team in the school. Staff members may refer particular students to the team if issues arise. Individual team members meet with students on a one to one basis or in small groups as the need arises.
