Nine lucky students from Transition Year have just returned from a week’s linguistic exchange in France. This was Loreto Bray’s second year to visit College St. Joseph in Libourne, France. The town is located close to Bordeaux.
The students attended classes in the secondary school and got a taste of French family life, staying with their ‘correspondant(e)’ in their home, tasting oysters, snails and lots of duck!
The students visited Bordeaux and did a bilingual city tour, taking in the famous Cité du Vin. They visited the Dune du Pilat, the highest dune in Europe and the seaside town of Arcachon. The group was welcomed by the Mayor of Libourne and we were proud to see the Town Hall fly the Irish flag in our honour. Un séjour inoubliable!
