TEACHERS' WINNING STREAK CONTINUES!

A brace of goals from teacher team debutants, Mr. Nolan and Ms. O'Connor sealed the sweet victory for the teachers in the annual Teacher-6th Year student soccer match.
There had been much talk from the 6th Years who had been quite vociferous about turning the tide this year and taking the coveted trophy; yet to no avail.
The teachers opened stronger in the first half and the relentless pressure saw Mr. Nolan net the opening goal in his debut, with the assist coming from Ms. O'Connor .
6th Year goalie, Becca came to the rescue a couple of times, and some breaks saw Carla have a number of long-range shots, which were dealt with ably by the strong defensive line of Ms. Walsh, Mr. Guerin and Ms. Bates.
The second half saw the 6th Years up the intensity. They threw everything at the Teachers; including at one stage having 27 players on the pitch. However, on a counter-attack a millimetre perfect assist by Mr. Cassidy saw Ms. O'Connor hit a rocket of a shot into the roof of the 6th Years net.
Ms. O'Dwyer was more than delighted to accept the trophy on behalf of the teachers from Carmel, a representative from @huggireland; all money raised will be donated to this wonderful charity.
